- The Look: Invisible. It does not change the color or texture of the concrete.
- The Function: Chemically bonds to the concrete pores to repel water and salt. Breathable (allows ground moisture to escape without peeling).
2. Acrylic "Wet Look" Sealers
- Best For: Stamped Concrete, Exposed Aggregate, Pavers.
- The Look: High-Gloss or Satin. It enhances the colors, making stone look deeper and richer (like when it is wet).
- The Function: Forms a protective film on top to prevent abrasion and UV fading.

Sealing FAQ
Will it make my driveway slippery?
Penetrating sealers (our standard for driveways) do not change the surface texture, so they are not slippery. If you choose a film-forming (wet look) sealer, we add a non-slip grit to ensure traction.
How long does the sealer last?
A high-quality penetrating sealer typically lasts 3 to 5 years in the Bay Area climate before needing a re-coat. Topical acrylics usually need a refresh every 2-3 years to maintain the gloss.
Can you seal old concrete?
Yes! While sealing new concrete is best, cleaning and sealing old concrete can stop further deterioration and restore its appearance.
