Will epoxy make my basement colder?
Epoxy is similar to tile. However, unlike bare concrete, it stops the dampness. A dry floor feels warmer than a damp one. You can also use area rugs on top of epoxy for added warmth in sitting areas.
What if my basement floods?
Epoxy is the best flooring for flood zones. Since it is resin-based, water cannot damage it. After a flood, you simply vacuum up the water, sanitize the floor, and it looks brand new. No ripping out soggy carpet.
